My concept explores black dialect. Looking back at the times when I was younger and lacked confidence and self-value my parental figures and mentors instilled into me these terms of endearment to uplift me and keep me focused on what’s important. This collection uses images of flowers and words to bring out my idea. The abstract quality of my work is to have these prints be hidden messages or gems that only can be understood by black people because its only for us.
